Our Prospective Pilots Took to the Skies for Their First Solo Flights!

Our sophomore year Undergraduate Professional Flight Program students Mehmet Sakacı, Emre Yanarsönmez, Özgü Tekoğlu, İsmail Gökay Sert, Ahmet Can Cura, Berk Eker and Mücahit Bahadır Akgün, who started their PPL trainings in the 2013-14 academic year, took to the skies for their first solo flights after completing their theoretical, technical and practicals flight trainings. Following a series of flights performed under the guidance of their flight instructors in simulators and training aircrafts, our students finally sat in the cockpit and wore their “scarves” during a ceremony held at the AYJET Flight School Hezarfen Airport on May 22, Thursday.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Esra Gençtürk visited the AYJET Flight School Hezarfen Airport on the same day and attended the ceremony, congratulating our prospective pilots for their achievement. Prof. Dr. Gençtürk also visited all units of the airport and obtained information about trainings together with Assistant Prof. Hatice Küçükönal, Director of our School of Aviation, M. Bülent Aksum, Chief Ground Instructor, AYJET executives, flight instructors and students.
