Outdoor Sports Club - Oryantiring (ITU O-DAYS)

Dear Friends,

ITU O-DAYS is a competition series organized by the Istanbul Technical University Orientation Club. Celebrating its the 7th edition this year, ITU O-DAYS welcomes hundreds of contestants from different categories each year.  As the OzU Outdoor Sports Club, we are happy and proud to announce that we will also be taking part in the ITU O-DAYS this year.

What is Orienteering?

Orienteering is an outdoor sport that uses a compass and map to navigate through in an unfamiliar environment and find the designated targets (“control points”). Participants race against time to visit the designated control points on the map in sequence. All control points are marked with orange-white flags. 

ITU-O-Days is a two-day event which will take place on March 23-24. We will participate in the Medium Length race, only, which will take place in Kirazlıbent on March 24. The points earned in this race will contribute to the overall country ranking. For this reason, the race will not include beginner-level or short-distance tracks, and will be open to experienced orienteering athletes.

Program: As the Outdoor Sports Club, we will participate in the competition organized by Istanbul Technical University on Sunday, March 24. Our shuttle will depart for Belgrad Forest from the dormitories at 08:45 am. After arriving at the venue, we will complete our registrations, which will take half an hour at most. The competition will start at 11:00 am. Participants will be given a map which they will use to find the control points on the track. After all of the participants complete the track, we will head back for our campus around 15:00 pm.

Event Fee: 35 TL for club members, 40 TL for non-club members
