Özyeğin University and Accor Turkey Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Özyeğin University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Accor, one of the world’s leading hotel groups. The signing ceremony took place on the Özyeğin University Çekmeköy Campus with the attendance of Prof Dr. Esra Gençtürk, Özyeğin University Rector,  Mr. Uğur Talayhan, Regional Vice President for Luxury Brands at Accor and General Manager at the Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Mr. M. Teoman Alemdar, Director of the School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University, and Ms. Meltem Çelikarslan, Vice President for Talent and Culture for the Near East and Europe at Accor.

The cooperation entails priority to all deserving Hotel Management students of the School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University in screening and selecting students for internships, and preferential treatment to all deserving Hotel Management students of the School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University for open positions at all hotels affiliated with Accor both in Turkey and all around the world. The cooperation also entails the design and delivery of tailored executive training programs for middle and senior management at Accor by Hotel Management faculty at the School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University.

Evaluating the MoU signed between both institution, Mr. M. Teoman Alemdar, Director of the School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University remarked: “Today, Accor serves with 4,840 hotels under 38 brands in 111 countries around the world. With the newly-forged cooperation we have entered with the Accor hotels group, our Undergraduate Hotel Management Program is now more robust than ever. This cooperation will open new doors to our students for careers in the luxury and high-class brands of Accor, including Raffles, Orient Express, Banyan Tree, Delano, Sofitel Legend, Fairmont, SLS, SO/, Sofitel, The House of Originals, Rixos, Onefinestay and Swissôtel. With this protocol, we aim to provide our students with internship and recruitment opportunities at the leading hospitality institutions, while at the same time, respond to the corporate training needs of Accor with our tailor-made programs.”

Mr. Uğur Talayhan, Regional Vice President for Luxury Brands at Accor, and General Manager at Swissôtel The Bosphorus Istanbul also remarked: “Supporting such a revered and important institution as Özyeğin University means a lot to us.  Our goal is to enable Özyeğin University students to capitalize on the global power of the Accor group in the best way possible to help them take their hospitality careers beyond borders.”
