The Department of Psychology at Özyeğin University invites applications for a faculty position in Cognitive Neuroscience, open to candidates at all academic ranks. Appointment rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Applicants are expected to have an excellent research and publication record commensurate with their academic title and years in academia. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong potential to contribute to the department’s research profile and to advance high-quality, internationally visible research.
Expertise is expected in human neuroscience, with particular emphasis on methodologies such as EEG, fNIRS, TMS, and eye-tracking. Experience with multimodal approaches and experimental research is considered an asset.
The Department of Psychology is well equipped for experimental and neuroscientific research, currently hosting two state-of-the-art eye-tracking systems and physiological recording devices. The department also has a dedicated budget for the procurement of new research equipment aligned with strategic needs. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to actively pursue external research funding from national and international sources.
The faculty member will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching (e.g., Biopsychology, Methods in Neuroscience Research), supervise graduate students, participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives, and strengthen national and international research collaborations within and beyond the university.
Founded in 2011, the Özyeğin University Psychology BA program is accredited by the Turkish Psychological Association, reflecting the high international standards of the education offered. In addition to the BA program, the department offers MA programs in Couple and Family Therapy, Applied Developmental Psychology, and Industrial and Organizational Psychology, as well as a PhD program in Psychology. The department currently hosts approximately 500 undergraduate students, 15 graduate students, two postdoctoral researchers, one honorary professor, and 15 full-time faculty members. With multiple research laboratories, a Couple and Family Therapy Center, and active involvement in a wide range of research and intervention projects, the department has a strong record of research productivity, public service, and community engagement. The dossier should include a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, research statement, teaching statement, student evaluations of courses taught (if available), up to five publications, two letters of reference, and any other documents the applicants wish to include. For applications at the associate professor and professor levels, letters of reference may not be required at the initial stage, but may be requested after the applications have been reviewed.
