The Department of Anthropology at Ozyegin University, Istanbul, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Social/Cultural Anthropology, starting in September 2027.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must hold a PhD in Anthropology or a related discipline (e.g., Sociology, Cultural Studies, or Science, Technology & Society) by the time of appointment.
- The ideal candidate will have an active research agenda, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a strong record of international peer-reviewed publications, preferably including at least two Q1/Q2 (WoS) publications.
- While areas of specialization are flexible, a research focus on digital anthropology, artificial intelligence (AI), new media, or market ethnography will be an advantage.
OzU Anthropology, founded in 2024, offers Turkey's first applied socio-cultural anthropology undergraduate program, with a unique interdisciplinary curriculum. We seek candidates who will enrich and expand our interdisciplinary research and teaching environment. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in anthropology & sociology and various electives. The standard teaching load is four courses per academic year (2/2).
