Project Description:
This project explores the integration of optimization techniques and machine learning algorithms to address complex real-world problems in manufacturing and transportation systems. Participants will develop innovative solutions for scheduling, routing, and resource allocation using combinatorial optimization methods enhanced with machine learning models. The research aims to improve efficiency, adaptability, and scalability in industrial and transportation contexts.
Project Tasks
- Analyze real-world data from manufacturing and transportation systems to identify optimization challenges.
- Develop combinatorial optimization solutions (e.g., integer programming, metaheuristics) for scheduling, routing, and resource allocation problems.
- Integrate machine learning models to predict and optimize key parameters dynamically.
- Validate the proposed methods on real-world or simulated datasets.
- Document the research process and prepare final reports and presentations.
Requirement
- Enrolled in an Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science undergraduate program.
- Completed at least 180 ECTS (Senior students).
- GPA > 2.7.
- Basic knowledge of optimization algorithms and machine learning techniques.
- Proficiency in Python.
