Our Students’ Team Comes in First in IHKIB’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition

The team “Novator”, which includes Ms. Fatma Nur Keleş, senior Industrial Engineering student at Özyeğin University, came in first in IHKIB Giy, an entrepreneurship and innovation competition organized by the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear Clothing and Apparel Exporters' Association, IKHIB. The competition aims to bring together university students from different disciplines who possess innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and are interested in textile and ready-to-wear clothing technologies in order to promote the development of high-value-added products, processes, and business models.

The winning team “Novator” was shortlisted out of 50 teams made up of 150 people, and claimed the first place among the 14 teams in the finals with their project “ProNova”, in which they designed medical scrubs using a special fabric they developed in order to prevent the medical team from cold in operating rooms and help them work more in comfort. The finals took place on May 17, 2022, and in addition to the monetary prize, the team also won the opportunity to attend a training program at RWTH Aachen Institute of Textile Technology.
