Our Architecture Students and Faculty Attend the EAAE Annual Conference and Great Assembly 2018 in Porto

The European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) held its annual conference and great assembly at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Porto, our Erasmus partner university. The EAAE Annual Conference and Great Assembly 2018 took place from August 29 to September 1 with the theme of Architecture Education, Research, and Practice. The conference program also included an international workshop titled “Design Studio” for, in particular, graduate students from different universities in Europe. During the workshop, the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Özyeğin University was represented by Ali Fatih Cebeci and Eylül Merve Zorlu, our Architecture students, as well as Feyza Sayman, a member of our Class of 2018. Our students applied for the 2018 EAAE Annual Conference and Great Assembly upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. Our students were selected after an evaluation of their reference letters, resumes, and portfolios. The workshop took place in the indoor and outdoor spaces designed by the renowned architect Alvara Siza for the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Porto as well as different urban spaces in Porto from August 27 to 29. Following the workshop, our students attended the conference together with Prof. Dr. Hülya Turgut, a member of the Faculty of Architecture at Özyeğin University, and Associate Prof. Murat Şahin, Head of the Department of Architecture, to share their workshop experience and outputs with faculty, students, and the representatives of professional organizations at the conference. We would like to congratulate our faculty and students on their successful representation of both our University and themselves with their dedication, commitment, and well-acclaimed presentation.
