Prof. M. Pinar Mengüç has been serving as an Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer since 2006 along with Dr. Laurence Rothman from Harvard Smithsonian and Dr. Michael Mishchenko from NASA Goddard. During their editorship the impact factor (IF) of JQSRT, which is an Elsevier journal,  has soared up to 3.193 from 1.664 within the last three years.

Impact Factor is an indicator of the number of citations an article in a journal receives; it measures the perceived value of the papers published in a relevant field.

With its new IF value, JQSRT has become one of the top 4 high-impact journals among 24 journals focusing on heat and radiative transfer research.
