Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center Brought Industry and Business Leaders Together

The Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center was founded to meet the need for high quality professionals in the retail and commercial real estate industry.  To this end, the Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center brought the leading real estate professionals, business leaders, and our university faculty together during an event held at the Swissôtel.

The event offered two special training sessions. The first session, “Original Management in Special Periods -A Success Story: LCW”, was led by Avi Alkaş, President of JLL Turkey, Hüsnü M. Özyeğin, Chairman of the Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation and Chairman of Özyeğin University’s Board of Trustees, and Vahap Küçük, Chairman of Tema Holding/LC Waikiki and Küçükler Holding. The second training session of the event, “Project Development - The Emaar Square Case”, was delivered by  Ümit Türüdü Şen, Marketing and Sales Director at Emaar Turkey.

During the cocktail party, held after the event, Avi Alkaş, Chairman of JLL Turkey, gave information about future training programs and symposiums that will be held by the Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center. Alkaş also remarked that they hope to bring young professionals together with seasoned industry experts through their industry-specific events. “The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) will for the first time organize a training program at the Özyeğin University Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center between May 4 and 8, 2015,” said Avi Alkaş, highlighting their upcoming plans. “In addition, the Asia Pacific Real Estate Research Symposium, which is held once every two years in cooperation of the University of Singapore (NUS), the University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University, will take place in Istanbul in June 2016 under our leadership.  Turkish and global connoisseurs of real estate and retail industries will share their knowledge and experience with participants during our events.  Furthermore, a new academic track will soon be added to Özyeğin University’s Master of Business Administration Program (MBA) in collaboration with the Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center. Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center students will also have the chance to pursue their graduate studies in retail and real estate.”
