Dr. Bebek and Dr. Uğurlu Joins ICORR as Founding Members

Dr. Özkan Bebek and Dr. Barkan Uğurlu, faculty members at the Mechanical Engineering Department at Özyeğin University, have joined the ICORR - International Consortium for Rehabilitation Robotics as founding members from Turkey. ICORR was founded with the mission of contributing to research and promoting collaborations in the fields of robotics and advanced technology employed in medical services for rehabilitation, therapy and functional independence.  Launched with 33 members following a meeting held in the Netherlands, ICORR’s efforts will be focused on organizing a series of conferences, workshops, and events, liaisoning with other similar national and international institutions to disseminate information, and promoting joint studies on rehabilitation and other relevant technologies. The consortium also aims to foster studies on medical robots and support the training of young talented researchers in advanced research and development. Dr. Özkan Bebek, coordinator of the Biomechatronics Laboratory at Özyeğin University, and Dr. Barkan Uğurlu, are ICORR’s first founding members from Turkey.  Currently, Dr. Bebek and Dr. Uğurlu are conducting TUBITAK and EU-funded studies on rehabilitation and the development of medical robots.
