Alp Alkaş Retail & Real Estate Center Opens Its Doors on January 6

Alp Alkaş Retail and Real Estate Center launched jointly by Özyeğin University in loving memory of Alp Alkaş, who died at a very early age last year while pursuing a very bright career in retail and real estate sector, will open its doors in January 6, 2014.

Industry Leaders as Lecturers


Founded jointly by Avi Alkaş, Chairman of Alkaş Consulting and President of Jones Lang LaSalla Turkey,  and Özyeğin University, the center aims to prepare competent and resourceful employees required by the retail and real estate industry.

Alp Alkaş Retail and Retail Estate Center will be offering education with a stellar faculty with in-depth experience led by Prof. Celal Aksu and Dr. Işın Erol as well as with prominent guest lecturers from the retail and real estate sectors including  Mustafa Taviloğlu, Mehmet Nane, Oya Sener, Cem Boyner, Abdullah Kiğılı, Serdar Sunay, Harun Tavşancıl, Attorney at Law, Dr. Cevdet Akçay, Prof. Ümit Özlale, Kamil Özçoban,  Murat Tabanlıoğlu, Mustafa Toner, Hüsnü Güreli, Cavit Habib, Sina Afra, Servet Topaloğlu, Emre Arolat and Suat Soysal.

Scholarship Applications Are Still Invited


A maximum number of 40 students will be admitted to the training program offered with the academic support of Özyeğin University, including at least 10 scholarship recipients. Scholarship applicants must be university graduates with a good command of English and at least two years of professional experience in the industry. Scholarship applications can be submitted to Federation of Shopping Malls and Retailers (TAMPF), Society for Registered Trade Marks (TMD), United Brands Association (BMD), Trade Council of Shopping Malls and Retailers  (AMPD), Chain Stores Association (KMD) and Food Retailers Association (GPD).

Trainings will be offered in the form of a 6-month certificate program at the Özyeğin University Graduate School of Business Facility at Swissôtel from January to June 2014. The center will continue offering its trainings as an MBA program as of the 2014-15 academic year. The curriculum will consists of the following courses:  Fundamentals of Retail, Introduction to Retail and Real Estate Law, Retail Design: Principles and Experiments, Sustainable Design and Construction, Store Planning, Tenant Coordination,  Real Estate Investment and Analysis and Funding, Accounting, Budget and Auditing, Lease Management, Strategic Planning for Business Efficiency Improvement, Leasing and Development Strategies, Trust and Risk Management,  Change Management in Retail, Human Resources Management, Team Management, Guidance and Skills Assessment at Times of Uncertainty,  ,Strategic Facility Management, Marketing: Planning and Strategy, Market Research, Consumer Behavior, Strategic Customer Relations Management,  Marketing Communication, Sponsorship and Partnership Marketing, Multichannel Marketing.
