When brands take a stance on social issues, are they genuinely committed or leveraging a strategic opportunity presented by the moment?

The Faculty of Business and the Graduate School of Business at Özyeğin University are proud to present the new installment of “ThoughtFront: Conversations Shaping Business,” a panel series designed to bring together thought leaders from academia and the business world. This edition offers a multidimensional perspective on how brands position themselves in relation to purpose, values, and social impact.

Our panel “From Purpose to Impact: Brands and Society” examines the true motivations behind brands’ value-based narratives; how they navigate the fine line between authenticity and opportunism, and how these choices shape public perception. Distinguished speakers will explore the influence of brand behavior on consumers, stakeholders, and society at large, offering a comprehensive outlook on why value advocacy has become a critical strategic element in today’s communication landscape.

The session will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Berk Ataman from the Business Administration Department at Özyeğin University. Our esteemed panelists include Viktor Kuzu, Co-Founder of Blab Advertising Agency and Founder of Deeper; Bilge Ciftci, Executive Board Member C-Level Commercial Leader FMCG, Telecomms, Women on Boards Türkiye; and Assoc. Prof. Kivilcim Dogerlioglu-Demir, Faculty Member at the Özyeğin University Business Administration Department.
