After completing her high school education at Terakki Foundation Schools, Alev Özeroğlu started studying at Yeditepe University Faculty of Law in 2008 with a full scholarship. She enrolled in a seminar program in US Law at American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. in 2009 and she graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Law in 2012. She received her Master of Laws degree from Özyeğin University's Institute of Social Sciences with a thesis titled "Self Defense in Turkish and American Criminal Law". She is pursuing doctoral studies at Marmara University Social Sciences Institute, and her research interests lie primarily in the field of comparative criminal law.
