Dr. Altug Basol received his BSc and MSc degrees from Bogazici University in Istanbul from chemical and mechanical engineering respectively. After receiving his Ph.D degree from ETH Zurich in Switzerland in 2013, he continued to work as a post-doctoral researcher at the same university.
His research focus is computational fluid dynamics, parallel programming, computing with GPU accelerators, numerical methods, gas and steam turbine aerodynamics and heat transfer. During his research activities at ETH Zurich he was involved in the research projects of the world’s leading turbine and compressor manufacturers to improve their current design of turbomachinery both in performance and reliability.
