ÖZÜ Faculty of Architecture and Design 100th Year Trip

Özyeğin Üniversitesi Faculty of Architecture and Design celebrates the 100th anniversary of our Republic with a technical tour. This special event aims to unite participants by reading the story of a nation built on great ideals after great destruction through the modern architectural heritage of the capital.

The focal point of the tour will be the planning and construction of Ankara as the capital. During this process, urban and structural aspects will be examined, and discussions on the change process will be held with the contributions of preservation specialist architects. Moreover, modern structures, as living documents of contemporary Turkey's construction and early and recent examples, will hold a significant place throughout the technical tour. The issue of preserving these structures will also be discussed within the program with the contributions of experts from DOCOMOMO TR.

The tour will conclude with our founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's visit to Anıtkabir on its 100th anniversary. During this closing event, the architecture and design process of Anıtkabir will be discussed, delving into the depths of an important symbol.

Özyeğin University encourages and supports students to participate in this exploration by covering all transportation expenses. This event aims to provide students with a rich historical and architectural experience.
