Dr. Hatice Küçükönal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Aviation and Aeronautical Science, Honored with the "Chairman’s Award" by the AABI

Dr. Hatice Küçükönal, our Vice Dean of the Faculty of Aviation and Aeronautical Science, has been honored with the “Chairman’s Award” by the Aviation Accreditation Board, AABI, in recognition of her outstanding services and distinctive contributions to the development of the aviation education and industry.

Dr. Küçükönal, who was elected a member of the Educator Forum Committee at the Aviation Accreditation Board, AABI, in 2020, received her award from Dr. Guy Smith, AABI President, during the AABI Annual Meeting 2022. During the awards ceremony, Dr. Smith expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Küçükönal for the services she has provided in supporting the AABI taking the leadership role in the accreditation of aviation education across the world.

Meanwhile, in 2021, the Professional Flight and Aviation Management Programs of the Faculty of Aviation and Aeronautical Sciences at Özyeğin University became the first programs both in Turkey and across Europe to ever receive accreditation from AABI. The AABI is an independent institution that accredits educational institutions in the USA and all over the world by setting educational standards with the aim of improving the quality of aviation programs at universities.
