Shoe Box 2017

After the Van earthquake in 2011, we showed solidarity as a country by supporting the residents of Van with their basic necessities. Although this support was essential in ensuring basic survival for all people in Van over the winter, there was a segment of the community that was likely the most affected by the earthquake: children. 

Based on our interest in showing the children of Van that they were not alone, the Duyarli OzU team developed the ShoeBox Project. Over the last three years since the earthquake, with the outpouring of support from OzU students, staff and friends, we prepared 1750 gift boxes (Shoe boxes). We were able to bring 1750 smiles to 1750 children’s faces in the affected areas of Van!

This year, with the slogan of “children should smile not just once, but always!” we are looking to continue the positive momentum of the ShoeBox Project. Like previous years, supporters can prepare gifts in shoe boxes, and we will deliver those boxes to the children, thereby increasing the number of smiles.

This time our stop is Düzce.

Application Deadline: December 4th, 2017, Monday

If you are wondering what the process is after signing up;

We will send an email to you about your information of child, such as age and gender, with  a box preparation guide between 5 - 6 December 2017.

The Delivery Week:

December 7, at 09.00 (Thursday) – December 15,  at 16.00 (Friday)

Venue: Student Center -1 (Located on the entry of dining hall)

The process of writing age-gender information on the box will provide convenience for functioning.
