Leonardo da Vinci Expo: Even in Istanbul

The world's largest and most comprehensive Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition, which had its premiere in Brugge, starts its world tour in Istanbul. We will view 100 replicas based on Da Vinci's original sketches along with original manuscripts, paintings and drawings with Pelin Güre, Art Education Specialist and Sectoral Education Advisor at OzU.

Throughout his life Leonardo Da Vinci had about 6,000 inventions prototypes, and painting sketches. However, later it was found out that only a small part of them was actually brought to life. A team of 22 people consisting of engineers, historians, graphic designers, and craftsmen brought together this unique collection after a meticulous 10 years of work.

The exhibition also sheds light onto original documents and models created by Da Vinci’s contemporaries such as Michelangelo, Albrecht Dürer, Giorgio Vasari, Donatello, Verrocchio, Giambologna, Raphael, Francesco Guardi and Canaletto, who were inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s works.
