Özyeğin University Receives the University-Business World Cooperation Award at the YÖK Outstanding Achievement Awards 2022

Özyeğin University has been honored with the “University-Business World Cooperation Award” in the “Institutional Outstanding Achievement” category at the YÖK Outstanding Achievement Awards 2022 organized as part of the Opening Ceremony of the 2022-2023 Academic Year for Higher Education. Thus, Özyeğin University has been named the second foundation university to have received the outstanding achievement award from this prestigious award platform since 2017. The award is also a valuable testament to the close relationship Özyeğin University has forged with the business world and the contributions it has made to the corporate field as an innovative and entrepreneurial university since the day it was founded.

The prestigious award was conferred in recognition of an exemplary project led by Dr. Göktürk Poyrazoğlu, a faculty member at the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering at Özyeğin University. The project “Harvesting Energy Efficiency in the Electric Distribution Sector (Harvest Phase 2 Project)- Transformer Efficiency Work Package (TRAFORM)” was implemented in cooperation with eight electric distribution companies and the Electric Distribution Services Association with the approval and support of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK). Özyeğin University was presented this distinguished corporate award in recognition of the innovative and unique contributions it has made in the fields of sustainability and energy efficiency for the ongoing digital transformation of the electric distribution sector through the software programs and mathematical models developed within the scope of the project.

The awards presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were received by Rector Prof. Dr. F. Esra Gençtürk on behalf of Özyeğin University and by Dr. Poyrazoğlu on behalf of the project.
