We Claim First Place For A Fourth Consecutive Year Among Foundation Universities in "GreenMetric Ranking"

The results of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2022 have been released! The GreenMetric World University Ranking is an international platform on sustainability and environmental awareness to evaluate and rank universities all over the world according to their sustainability activities and the amount of green space on campus. This year, 1,050 universities from all around the world participated in the UI GreenMetric Ranking 2021. Özyeğin University once again came in first among foundation universities in Türkiye for a fourth consecutive year, following 2019, 2020, and 2021. With this result, our University has become the world’s top 94th green university.

Launched in 2010, the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings ranks universities by their commitment and action towards going green and environmental sustainability across 39 indicators and 6 criteria, including Setting and Infrastructure (SI), Energy and Climate Change (EC), Waste (WS), Water (WR), Transportation (TR), and Education (ED). Each higher education institution is scored separately for each category, and ranked globally. The GreenMetric ranking is open to all higher education institutions worldwide. This year, 1,050 universities from all around the world participated in the GreenMetric Ranking 2022. Özyeğin University came in 94th among 1,050 universities worldwide, making it the only foundation university from Türkiye to make it to the Top 100.
