Özyeğin University Board of Trustees Chairman’s Philanthropy Featured in Harvard Business School Case Study

Hüsnü Özyeğin, the Founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees at Özyeğin University, takes center stage in a case study at Harvard Business School (HBS), one of the world's most prestigious business schools from where he graduated. Titled "Ӧzyeğin Social Investments: A Legacy of Giving," this is the first case study ever written at HBS about a family's philanthropic journey in the Middle East and Türkiye. The study delves into the Özyeğin family's social investments and the model they developed for the institutionalization of their philanthropic activities. Case studies, especially those rooted in real-life experiences, are deemed among paramount learning tools at HBS.

Hüsnü Özyeğin, the founder of our University, listened to the case study written based on his life story during a class held on November 20, 2023, at HBS, from where he graduated in 1969. Following the presentation of the case study, he engaged with students, responding to their questions. During the case study class, Hüsnü Özyeğin was accompanied by Ayşen Özyeğin, Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Mother and Child Education Foundation (AÇEV), and Ayla Göksel, Head of Özyeğin Social Investments. Hüsnü Özyeğin expressed that it is a profound and powerful feeling beyond words to witness his life story and achievements presented as an example to students at his alma mater from where he graduated almost 45 years ago. Mr. Özyeğin emphasized that speaking about the legacy of giving and philanthropy in a setting where he had shared his success stories in previous years brought forth a different and gratifying satisfaction.
