Özyeğin University Earns Finalist Recognition in Airbus’ “Fly Your Ideas” Competition

Airbus, one of the leading organizations in the aerospace industry, has announced 51 international student teams to go into round two of its sixth Fly Your Ideas global challenge. The competition is a unique offer from Airbus to students worldwide to bring their ideas to life together with a leading global company on real industry challenges. Our junior Computer Science student Muhammet Burak Şentürk earned a finalist recognition for the grand finale of “Fly Your Ideas” in June. Muhammet Burak Şentürk attended the competition with his team “Atmosphere.ist” and qualified to be the only finalist project owner from Turkey. We would like to congratulate Muhammet Burak Şentürk and his team, and wish them success in the grand finale.  

About “Fly Your Ideas”

Airbus’ Fly Your Ideas is a global competition that offers a unique opportunity for students to innovate and bring their ideas to life under the guidance of Airbus in six key areas covering Electrification, Data Services, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Mixed Reality.  The 270 teams involving over 2,200 students from 72 universities develop ideas which include solutions for surveillance drones, alternative power generation, in-flight entertainment systems and many others. The shortlisted teams have three months to mature their ideas with the support of Airbus mentors and aerospace experts before up to six finalists are chosen. Finalist teams will compete for a share of the €45,000 prize and the chance to take their idea forward within the aerospace industry. Airbus is looking for ideas that change the future of aerospace and create a safer, cleaner and better-connected world.
