WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE ELEVATOR PITCH COMPETITION?

The Elevator Pitch Competition is held by Özyeğin University in observance of the Global  Entrepreneurship Week with the participation of high school students and Özyeğin University  students in quest to promote entrepreneurship and develop students’ self-expression, presentation  and persuasion skills.  The competition endeavors to build on students skills to effectively introduce themselves to others,  concisely pitch a business idea, and powerfully persuade the other person within the time span of an  elevator ride.

COMPETITION RULES

Using the “elevator ride” as a metaphor, the competition assumes the student meets the owner of the company or a senior executive in the company elevator. The young entrepreneur is expected to deliver a persuasive pitch in the time span of an elevator ride (around 60 seconds) in order to introduce himself/herself and persuade the potential investor for a meeting.

Based on the principle of expressing a business idea in the most effective way, the Elevator Pitch competition today serves as an important business model, bringing budding entrepreneur together with seasoned investors on international business platforms.

• Students with business ideas
• Students with ventures
• Students aspiring to develop their business ideas
• Students aspiring to develop their presentation skills
• Students aspiring to improve their public speaking and persuasion skills

STAGES Of COMPETITION

Following the high school eliminations to be held in several cities across Turkey, high school finalists and applicants from OzU will compete together at the finals to be held on the Özyeğin University Çekmeköy Campus. The final competition will feature surprise guests from the business world. Students will have the opportunity to win several prizes, meet important investors as well as developing their self-expression and persuasion skills.

PRIZES:

Gift Cheques from TEKNOSA;

First Prize : 1500 TL
Second Prize : 1000 TL
Third Prize : 500 TL

CALENDAR

On November 10, high school finalists selected following the high school eliminations held in severalcities across Turkey, and OzU students that applied to participate in the competition by submitting the application form available at the following link will compete together at the finals to be held on the Özyeğin University Çekmeköy Campus.
