Dr. Begüm Diker graduated from the Department of Architecture at Kocaeli University in 2013. She completed her M.Sc. in Environmental Control and Construction Technology program from Istanbul Technical University in 2017. Between 2013 and 2018, she worked as an architect and project coordinator in various architecture firms. From 2018 to 2024, she served as a research assistant at Doğuş University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Architecture. In 2024, she earned her Ph.D. in Construction Sciences from Istanbul Technical University with her dissertation titled "Transformation of existing residential buildings in Turkey into nZEB with energy efficiency improvements: Financial barriers and solution proposals". Dr. Begüm Diker's academic research focuses on building energy performance, nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB), and energy efficiency financing.
