Psychological Counseling Services
Our Services
The Psychological Support Unit (PSU) offers individual counseling, group programs, and preventive mental health services to support students’ psychological well-being, strengthen their coping skills, and facilitate their adjustment to university life.
Students can access individual counseling at our offices on Level -3 of the Student Center and in Dormitory 6. All services are provided on a voluntary basis, in accordance with professional ethical principles and confidentiality standards.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is a professional support process that provides students with an opportunity to explore their difficulties with a mental health professional and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their needs.
The counseling process supports students in:
Understanding the challenges they encounter in their academic, social, and personal lives,
Recognizing their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns,
Developing skills to cope with stress and difficult emotions,
Exploring their relationships and communication styles,
Making decisions that reflect their needs and what matters to them.
The goals of counseling are determined collaboratively, based on each student’s needs and expectations.
Counseling in the Dormitories
Dormitory counseling services help students access psychological support during the evening and night. Dormitory psychologists provide support from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. at the counseling offices in Dormitory 6.
Students can seek support for concerns such as:
Stress, anxiety, and emotional difficulties,
Adjustment to university and dormitory life,
Difficulties with motivation and studying,
Social relationships, communication, and interpersonal conflicts,
Unexpected distressing events and crisis situations.
Depending on each student’s needs, services may include individual counseling, psychological support, and referrals to relevant services. Coordination with other university units is arranged when necessary.
