To the Attention of Undergraduate Students Expelled at the End of the 2020-2021 Academic Year Due to the Maximum Period of Study

The status of students who reached the end of their maximum period of study at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year has been re-evaluated by the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK) considering the pandemic conditions, and these students have been granted the right to additional examination/grace period with the YÖK letters E-75850160-104.01.01.01-73154 dated 01.10.2021 and E-75850160-104.01.01.01-76443 dated 14.10.2021. In consideration of the foregoing, please be advised that the principles applicable for undergraduate students who exceeded their maximum period of study and therefore were expelled from the University at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year were determined and announced by the University Senate with the senate decision 2021/10 dated 29.11.2021.

Applications for additional examinations and/or a grace period in the 2021-2022 Spring semester must be submitted to the administrative secretaries of applicants’ academic units. The deadline for applications for additional examinations and a grace period is January 31, 2022, 16:00pm. Failure to submit an application before the deadline will constitute a waiver of the respective rights.

Courses for which expelled students may exercise their right to additional examinations or a grace period will be sent to expelled students’ personal email addresses that are registered in the Student Information System (SIS), if available.

If your application is accepted, tuition you need to pay will be displayed in the Student Information System (SIS).

- Students who exercise their Right to Examination pay an examination fee, which is 1/5th of the per-course fee determined based on the student’s year of admission and academic program. Admission scholarships and/or other scholarships or discounts are not applicable for these fees.

-The fees to be paid by students who exercise their Right to a Grace Period in order to take the applied courses they have not previously taken are determined based on the total credits of the courses in which they registered in the respective semester. Students pay per-credit tuition if the total credits of the courses in which they register in the respective semester are at most 18 credits, including internships.  Students pay semester tuition if the total credits of the courses in which they register in the respective semester are more than 18 credits, including internships.
