Research

OzU Civil Engineering Department aims to conduct research on novel and interdisciplinary fields for the ultimate objective of reaching sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems and cities. Some of our research studies are supported by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and EU (European Union) Funds.

Structural and Earthquake Engineering
Prof. Dr. Gülay Altay   Design of steel structures, Structural connections, structural stability, earthquake resistant design, structural control, repair and retrofitting of historical structures, cold-formed steel structures, plates and smart structures.
Dr. Bülent Erkmen Experimental methods, seismic performance of concrete/steel structures, advanced finite element analysis, fluid-structure interaction and CFD, blast performance of industrial/critical structures.
