About Us

The aim of the Disabled Students Unit is to facilitate the campus life of students with disabilities through activities based on the principle of equal opportunity in education, to plan the physical and administrative arrangements that support their education, and to provide social-cultural support to students.

This unit, supports the psychological, academic and social development of students with disabilities by establishing qualified communication with each student who is studying at Özyeğin University and in need of special support, and working in cooperation with faculties and administrative units. In addition, at the beginning of each semester, an informative e-mail is sent to the academics of the courses they take, with the knowledge and permission of the disabled students, stating the student's status and needs. In this context, necessary studies are carried out on the selection or arrangement of course and exam environments according to the disability.

The Disabled Students Unit enables the conversion of course materials into accessible formats through student support working part-time in the academic field. In addition, this unit provides individual psychological counseling and preventive, protective and remedial workshops to help students cope with relational, academic and social problems that they may encounter during their academic life.

The Disabled Students Unit works to increase the awareness of every student of Özyeğin University about disability. It supports the development of social sensitivity and responsibility awareness of all students within the scope of barrier-free projects.
