All activities carried out by the Disabled Student Unit are planned and implemented in accordance with national legislation, higher education regulations, and internal university decisions. Below is the basic legislation and regulations that directly concern students with disabilities and special needs.

• Directive on the Working Procedures and Principles of Disabled Student Units This is the fundamental institutional text that regulates the duties, authorities, responsibilities, and working principles of Disabled Student Units in universities. The functioning of the Disabled Student Unit is carried out within the framework of this directive.

• Law No. 5378 on Persons with Disabilities This is the fundamental law regulating the rights of individuals with disabilities in Turkey regarding education, employment, and participation in social life. • Regulation on the Consultation and Coordination of Students with Disabilities in Higher Education Institutions Published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), this regulation dictates how consultation, coordination, and support mechanisms for students with disabilities in higher education institutions will be conducted. • Regulation on the Health Conditions Required for Exam Practices for Individuals with Disabilities and for Disability Quotas This is the official regulation that governs exam practices, additional time, reader/marker support, and health conditions related to disability quotas for individuals with disabilities. It determines the principles to be applied in central exams and higher education processes.
