Double Major and Minor Program

Double Major and Minor Program

DOUBLE MAJOR
Double major students must satisfy all of the degree requirements in their primary majors, and must take and successfully pass all of the required and elective courses in their secondary majors.

Students who do not have BUS 101 Introduction to Business I (Decision Making) as an area requirement in their primary majors must take and successfully pass BUS 100 and BUS 190.

For Faculty of Business students whose secondary major is another Faculty of Business program, credit and grade transfer rules specified in their primary major will be applied for BUS 101 Introduction to Business I (Decision Making) course. For their secondary major, credit and grade transfer rules specified for the secondary major will be applied.

Double major students (Except Law Faculty students) are not required to complete internships in their secondary majors. It is sufficient for these students to complete the internship requirements in their primary majors.

Faculty of Business Double major students must complete at least 306 (240+66) credits in total in order to be eligible for graduation from their secondary majors. Students whose total credits remain below 306 after completing all of the requirements of their primary majors and secondary majors can complete their remaining credits:

• By taking “Program” electives if they double major in the Entrepreneurship program.
• Faculty of Business students who have MGMT 402 and SEC 402 as an area requirement in their primary majors and whose secondary major is International Trade and Business (BAIBUS) are exempt from taking IBUS 402 and IBUS 404 as an area requirement in their BAIBUS secondary major program. For these students, MGMT 402 and SEC 402 are counted towards IBUS 402 and IBUS 404, respectively.
• Faculty of Business students whose primary major is International Trade and Business (BAIBUS) and secondary major is any other Faculty of Business program are exempt from taking MGMT 402 and SEC 402 as an area requirement in their secondary major. IBUS 402 and IBUS 404 are counted towards MGMT 402 and SEC 402, respectively, if these two courses are part of the degree requirements for the secondary major.

Additionally, they must select four more courses from the elective pool (see Table 1). At least two of these four elective courses should be chosen from the primary elective pool.
