Biography

Dr. Cansu Günaydın Donduran is an architect and design researcher whose work focuses on the relationship between design cognition, computational approaches to design, and the evolving practices of architectural representation. She holds a B.Sc. in Architecture (2011) and a Minor in Industrial/Product Design (2012) from Izmir University of Economics; an M.Arch. in Advanced Design & Digital Architecture (2015) from Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Engineering; and an M.Sc. (2019) and Ph.D. (2025) in Architecture from the Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH).
Since 2020, she has been part of the academic faculty in the Department of Architecture at Özyeğin University, teaching design studios and courses that integrate computational and parametric design, digital representation, and design methods. Her broader research focuses on design cognition, computational and parametric design, design studio pedagogy, human–AI collaboration, digital design behaviors, reflective digital fluency, and analogical and bio-inspired approaches to conceptual development, positioning architectural education as an evolving field at the intersection of cognitive, technological, and representational practices.
