Dr. Gokturk Poyrazoglu received his B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Yeditepe University, Turkey in 2008. He worked as an engineer in the design and implementation of electrical circuits of several industrial facilities in Russia and Turkey. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2013 and 2015 respectively. He worked as a scientist in Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratory (MERL) and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) to address the changes affect the energy industry in the next 30 years. He conducted research on the topics of energy economics, smart energy solutions, transmission line planning, and demand-side management. The ‘State of Charge’ study that he led with Alevo Analytics for the department of Energy in the state of Massachusetts built the scientific basis of the state’s 200MW energy storage plan by the year of 2020. Since Sept. 2017, he is an Assistant Professor at Ozyegin University Electrical & Electronics Engineering departmant. He teaches Power Systems, Energy Systems, and Optimization for Engineers courses.
