Advanced cementitious and mineral building materials (self healing, self cleaning), effect of supplementary cementitious materials and geopolymers
Dr. Zeynep Başaran received her B.S. degree from Bogazici University in Civil Engineering in 2009, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from The University of Texas at Austin in Civil Engineering in 2011 and 2013, respectively. In her doctoral dissertation she worked on influence of biomineralization on cement based materials.
Dr. Başaran studies the relationship among processing, chemistry, properties, and performance of cement based materials to gain fundamental knowledge that aids the development of novel, sustainable, and durable construction materials. Her research interest also includes advanced cementitious and mineral building materials (self healing, self cleaning), effect of supplementary cementitious materials and geopolymers.
