Goals and Objectives

The Disabled Student Unit operates with the aim of ensuring the equal, accessible, inclusive, and sustainable participation of students with disabilities and special needs in higher education life at Özyeğin University. The goals and objectives determined in this direction are planned and monitored in accordance with the university's institutional policies and the criteria of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Barrier-Free University Flag Awards.

Primary Goals of the Disabled Student Unit

• To ensure the equal participation of students with disabilities and special needs in academic and social life

• To improve physical, digital, and academic accessibility

• To carry out reasonable accommodation processes in a transparent, fair, and student-oriented manner

• To strengthen an anti-discriminatory and inclusive university culture

• To increase the level of accessibility and awareness across the university

• To develop practices compliant with national and international legislation and YÖK criteria

  • To strengthen reasonable accommodation practices in assessment and evaluation processes

  • To expand the use of accessible documents (PDF, Word, etc.)

  • To increase accessibility awareness in digital content
