2 - Do I need to hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in law in order to be eligible for application?
In order to be eligible for application, you must hold a bachelor’s degree in law. However, your master’s degree can be in any field.
3- How can I apply?
You may apply online via our online application system.
4- As I have not graduated yet, I will not have the transcript of my final semester at the time of application. Would this be a problem?
You may upload your current transcript as is. Once you graduate, you may submit your full transcript at the time of enrollment.
5- As I am a senior year student, I will not have a diploma at the time of application. Would this be a problem?
If you have already graduated, you may submit a temporary graduation certificate. If you have not graduated yet, you may obtain a document from your University which shows the expected semester/date of your graduation, and upload it to the online application system.
6- How should I upload my letter of reference to the application system?
Once you enter your reference’s contact details in the letter of reference field in the online application system, the system will send a reference form to your reference’s email address. When your reference fills out the form, the letter of reference will be uploaded to the system.
7- Can I submit my letters of reference in person?
If your references do not have Internet access or are unable to fill out the reference form via the online application system, they may mail the letters directly to the OzU Graduate School of Social Sciences or may submit them to you, enclosed in a sealed envelope, signed across the seals, to be submitted to the Graduate School:

8- If any of the application documents were missing, could I still be conditionally accepted?
Applications with missing documents will not be considered. Applicants are expected to upload all of the required application documents within the application period.
9- Can I still apply without English Proficiency Exam Score Report or Exam Score Report for Graduate Studies (i.e. ALES)?
You must meet all of the application requirements in order to be eligible for application.
10- Can I apply outside of the announced application period?
Applications are not accepted outside of the announced application period.
11- When will interviews be held?
Interview dates are available on the “Application Calendar and Online Application” page.
12- Can we make the interview via Skype?
We hold our interviews with prospective students who are abroad via Skype. However, we prefer having face-to-face interviews with our prospective students.
13- Can I benefit from any scholarship opportunity?
Full tuition waivers are awarded to 15% of our quota. Meanwhile, attorneys at law/legal apprentices affiliated with Istanbul Bar Association, judges and prosecutors, full-time faculty members of other universities, and the top three graduates of the Faculty of Law at Özyeğin University are awarded 25% tuition waivers. Also, Özyeğin University graduates are offered additional tuition waivers of 25%. In order to be eligible to receive these scholarships, you must obtain an official document from the respective institution to prove your eligibility, and submit your proof of eligibility to the Graduate School before the date of interview.
14- How many semesters does the tuition waiver cover?
Tuition waivers cover eight semesters. Doctoral (LLD) students who fail to graduate at the end of the regular period of study specified above must pay a semester fee each semester during which they pursue their studies at the University. The semester fee that LLD students need to pay is 1/8th of the annual program fee for the current academic year.
15- What is the maximum period of study for LLD Programs?
The regular and maximum periods of study for LLD programs is eight and 12 semesters, respectively, regardless of whether or not students renew their registrations each semester. Students who fail to graduate within their maximum period of study are expelled from the University by the decision of the respective Graduate School Execute Board (GSEB).
16- Do you accept applications in the Spring semester?
The decision about whether or not to accept applications for the Spring semester, and, if so, the application dates will be announced in October on the “Application Calendar and Online Application” page.
17-Where can I find the academic calendar?

18- Where are the PhD classes held?
Our PhD classes are held in our Altunizade building. (Further details about courses and course instruction during the Covid-19 pandemic will be announced later.)
19- Is the PhD Program’s course schedule suitable for working professionals?
The PhD Program’s hours are suitable for working professionals. Courses are held on weekdays from 18:00 to 20:00 and from 20:00 to 22:00.
