The idea of cooperating with Swissotel Hotels & Resorts on the basis of training, internships, hiring HMAN graduates and offering in return custom-designed certificate and diploma programs by Özyeğin University faculty for Swissotel Hotels & Resorts mid and top management, came onto the scene when the Hotel Management Program began to be shaped in early summer, 2008. The characteristics and the strategic plans of Swissotel Hotels and Resorts and Özyeğin University’s Hotel Management Program did match in most cases, mostly in the areas of size, quality and dedication towards future goals. Future international expansions in Russian, Chinese and Indian markets with emphasis on offering high quality products and mutually benefiting and supporting each other on a worldwide arena made both Swissotel Hotels & Resorts and Özyeğin University sound partners for the sake of achieving the best service delivery concept.
The presentation of the idea happened to occur in Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul property when Mr. Meinhard Huck, the President of the Swissotel Hotels & Resorts, was informed about the details of the protocol on Tuesday, January 27, 2009. The meeting adjourned with full agreement on both sides. On Monday, April 20, 2009, with the presence of Prof. Dr. Erhan Erkut, the Rector of Özyeğin University, Mr. Pierre Botteron, VP of Human Resources- Swissotel Hotels & Resorts, Mr. M. Teoman Alemdar, Director of the Hotel Management Program at Özyeğin University and Mr. Gerhard Struger, Regional VP Turkey and Eastern Europe, General Manager Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul, the Partnerhip Protocol was signed in front of witnesses from Swissotel Hotels and Resorts and Özyeğin University, at the Mont Blanc Meeting Room of the Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul. The protocol has been valid since that moment and cooperative activities have already started for the mutual benefits of both sides.
