Research in Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Research in electrical engineering today covers a very broad range of topics and necessitates more inter-disciplinary cooperation among various engineering and physical sciences branches.  At Özyeğin EE, our top-notch faculty and undergrad/grad students continue to innovate and push the state-of-the-art in diverse research areas. Example research topics actively pursued at the department include image/speech processing, wireless/optical communications, networks, microprocessors, analog/RF/microwave electronics, biosensors and MEMS. A more detailed list of research themes in our department is presented below.

Our research funding, which has grown substantially over the recent years, comes from national funding agencies (i.e., TUBITAK), international programs (e.g., EU 7th Framework Program) as well as university-industry collaborations. We believe it is ever more important for undergrad/grad students to go beyond textbook engineering and learn real-life engineering at school. Our university-industry partnerships with well-known national and multi-national corporations (such as Aselsan, Netaş, Turkcell, Vestel, Türk Telekom, Vodafone, Ericsson, etc.) present Özyeğin students a unique opportunity to experience engineering in industry while allowing our faculty to make an impact for Turkey.
