Strategic Plan Preparation and Follow-up
In line with Özyeğin University’s vision, the 2024-2029 Strategic Plan has been developed composing of seven main objectives under the themes of students, education, academic and administrative staff, research, internationalization, impact, and governance. For each objective, three specific goals have been set, resulting in a total of 21 goals. To measure progress toward these goals, 168 performance metrics have been defined, with expected levels to be achieved by the final year of the Strategic Plan.
To track performance against these metrics, specific software and reporting tools will be utilized, covering 7 faculties, 28 departments, the English preparatory program, 25 undergraduate programs, and 35 graduate programs (including 8 doctoral programs and 27 master’s programs, both thesis and non-thesis), as well as administrative units.
Over 100 new initiatives and improvement projects have been identified by academic and administrative units to achieve the Strategic Plan’s goals. These projects commenced on September 1, 2024, and their progress will be monitored through regular monthly meetings.
The implementation of the Özyeğin University Strategic Plan follows the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) continuous improvement cycle. Each year:
- The Plan phase occurs in January-February, during which new actions are defined, or existing ones are updated, and target values are revised if necessary.
- The Do phase involves executing the planned actions and collecting metric data throughout the year.
- The Check phase takes place in September-October, focusing on data analysis and evaluating metric performance.
- The Act phase occurs in November-December, where issues and opportunities are identified, and improvement suggestions are proposed.
The following year, the Plan phase begins anew in January-February, ensuring a continuous improvement process throughout the Strategic Plan’s implementation.
