OzU Connect Legal Lab

Connect Legal Lab, which aims to become an effective research field in the age of connection, opens its doors simultaneously with the Department of IT Law at Ozyegin University Law Faculty!
It is acknowledged by technology leaders that what is most needed are fair and effective legal rules in these new times when everything, living and lifeless, from the human brain to vehicles, starts to digitize by connecting to the network. That is why we created Connect Legal Lab in coordination with the strategic principles of Ozyegin University. It is designed to establish an architecture of connections on the axis of law and technology, involving both internal (between different faculties, multidisciplinary) and external (academia-industry, academia-non-governmental organizations) stakeholders.
With Connect Legal Lab, where being an interdisciplinary research area is one of our main priorities, we aim to analyze the legal effects of developing technologies and bring together other disciplines that address technology and students from both academia and industry.
Our main research areas include the legal effects of interconnected and emerging new technologies like new wireless technologies (5G and 6G), cybersecurity, privacy, data protection, smart cities, brain-machine interfaces, and neuro-rights.
In this context, we plan activities in which students can be active participants through research, events, projects, and hackathons. Additionally, we aim to contribute to undergraduate and graduate education within the framework of the legal effects of developing technologies, become a new generation knowledge transfer area that conducts national and international research, and collaborate with organizations such as non-governmental organizations and museums.
