Overview

The Preparatory English Program consists of four levels: Level 1 (Foundation 1), Level 2 (Foundation 2), Level 3 (Academic Readiness 1), and Level 4 (Academic Readiness 2).

These levels are designed to support students’ progressive development from A1 to B2 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Students who meet the course requirements at Academic Readiness 2 (Level 4) become eligible to take ScOLa’s English proficiency examination, the Test of Readiness for Academic English (TRACE). Students who successfully pass TRACE are admitted to the first year of their undergraduate programs.
