Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design celebrating the 10th anniversary...

Architecture (Turkish) Undergraduate Program was the first of the Faculty of Architecture and Design (MTF) in April 2012 was established within the Department of Architecture. The program started with 4 faculty members, 14 undergraduate students, and 46 preparatory students. The framework of the growth decision taken under the leadership of Özyeğin University founding rector Prof. Dr. Erhan Erkut, advisor to the rector (later a member of the Board of Trustees) Prof. Dr. Süha Özkan in June 2013, 3 new departments in the Faculty were established as Industrial Design, Communication Design, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design departments and Architecture (English) Undergraduate Program. FAD reached 15 faculty members in 2013. In 2015, Architecture (Thesis/non-thesis) Master's Program was established within the Institute of Science and Technology, and in 2016, the Design, Technology and Society Master's and Doctorate Programs were established within the Institute of Social Sciences. In 2020, the Architecture Doctorate Program, City and Architecture (Thesis/Non-Thesis) Master's Program were established and accepted students within the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences. Today, the Faculty of Architecture and Design continues its education, research and professional studies with 5 undergraduate programs in 4 undergraduate departments, 3 (Thesis and non-thesis) master's programs, 2 doctorate programs. As of the 2021-22 academic year, it continues its activities with 50 full-time faculty members and lecturers, 19 research assistants, and 1,350 undergraduate and 125 graduate students. The Faculty of Architecture and Design has 898 undergraduate and 22 graduates from graduate programs.

The education, which started with a classroom and 5 offices in AB1, which is the Engineering Faculty Building, continued temporarily in Academic Building 2, Academic Building 3, ÖZÜ-X buildings and completely moved to Academic Building 4, the building of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, in February 2020.
Academic Building 4 – Faculty of Architecture and Design building: Open-plan studios with model making stations, classrooms with fixed sitting equipment, seminar classrooms, laboratories for students, and digital model, model, design and built and ceramic workshops, research laboratories, conference hall, exhibition hall and exhibition areas, jury and student forum spaces associated with the studios.

Faculty of Architecture and Design 10th Anniversary celebrations, organized under the coordination of faculty dean Prof. Dr. Aslıhan Ünlü, with the participation of faculty members, students and graduates and continues with conference series, competitions, exhibitions, panels, 10th year book events. As the Faculty of Architecture and Design enters its second decade, it will continue to work in harmony with the strategies and approaches shaped by Özyeğin University, with its modern facilities and advanced education models, innovative and experienced staff in research, education and training.
