Pre-Enrollment Procedures

Pre-Enrollment Procedures

Below are the official procedures that accepted candidates must complete before enrolling in the University:

1. Visa Application

Foreign students are obligated to obtain a student visa for enrollment and complete Equivalency Letter procedures. Please make sure you apply for a student visa before coming to Turkey. You can find the visa requirements for foreign nationals coming from abroad here.

2. Procurement of Equivalency Letter

Equivalency Letter is a document that states that your high school diploma / graduation certificate / exam results / certificate are equivalent to those obtained in Turkey, and it is a legal obligation to obtain. Without this document, you cannot continue your education in Turkey within the legal framework.

High School Diploma Equivalency Letter can be obtained from provincial/district education directorates in Turkey, and from education consultancy and/or education attachés abroad. You can reach the relevant overseas representatives here. Students must apply for the Equivalency Letter in person.

We strongly remind you that the Equivalence Letter must be obtained before enrollment. If it is not possible to obtain this Letter from your country, OzU International Office will inform you on how to obtain the Equivalency Letter from Turkey. We would like to remind you that it is the students' responsibility to obtain the Equivalency Certificate.

Obtaining the Equivalence Letter is a long process. Therefore, we strongly remind you that before you come to Turkey, you must obtain the relevant document from your own country if you can, and if you cannot, you must come to Turkey and apply before the enrollment deadline. Otherwise, you cannot enroll. Please pay attention to the enrollment dates.

You can find detailed information about the Equivalency Letter here.

Students who completed their high school education in the high schools of the Republic of Turkey or students who have earned a high school diploma and graduated from TRNC high schools and earned a high school diploma are not required to obtain an Equivalence Letter.

3. Apostille Processes of International High School Graduation Documents

Apostille is a document approval system that ensures the authenticity of a document and its legal use in another country. You can do the apostille procedures from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country where your high school is located. For Equivalency Letter procedures, high school graduation documents must be apostilled. We strongly remind you that you must complete the apostille process of all your high school graduation certificates that have been accepted by the OzU International Office before you come to Turkey, since the Equivalency Letter is not issued for non-apostilled high school graduation documents and you can only complete the apostille process from your home country.

For documents with international validity (Cambridge, IB Diploma, Matura, Baccalaureate... etc.), Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Ministry of National Education or Apostille Approval is obligatory.

You can reach the countries that apply the apostille annotation here.

4. Additional Apostille and Additional Document Processing for Cambridge GCE A Level Exam Reports

Candidates who have received education within the scope of the Cambridge curriculum, have completed the GCE A Level examinations and are eligible to enroll by being accepted from the international student quota according to the results of the relevant exam, must additionally perform apostille procedures from the British Council. Since students who do not complete this certification process will not be able to obtain the Equivalency Letter in Turkey and the certification process can only be completed from your own country, you must perform the certification process before coming to Turkey. We would like to remind you that failure to obtain the Equivalency Letter will result in enrolment termination from our University.

Students who have completed the A Level exams as "private candidates" are required to obtain a document stating that they re eligible to continue to their university education from their own country in order to receive the Equivalency Letter in Turkey. We strongly remind you that you cannot obtain the Equivalency Letter in Turkey without this document.

5. Preparation of Enrollment Documents and Enrollment Procedures

Please make sure your enrollment documents are prepared completely. Enrollments will not be completed with missing documents. You can find detailed information about enrollment procedures and documents here.
