1. Where can I find my student number and username?

You will be able to access your student number and OzU email address from the Enrollment Letter to be sent by the Student Services Office.

2. How can I enroll? When are the enrollment periods? What time shall we come?

2023-2024 Fall semester enrollments will be taken online. The dates are specified in the Enrollment Letter sent to you.

3. It is not possible for me to complete my enrollment within the enrollment periods. Could I complete my enrollment if I come before or after the enrollment periods?

No. Candidates who do not complete their enrollment within the specified periods will lose their right to enroll in the University.

4. What documents should I upload to the Student Information Form?

5. I have a missing document. Could I register with missing document? I will submit my missing document later.

No. Enrollment procedures cannot be completed with missing documents.

6. How do I apply for the Equivalency Letter?

You can find all the details about the Equivalency Certificate and the application process here. You can also get in touch with the International Office for further guidance.

7. I cannot obtain my Equivalency Letter from my home country. Will I not be able to enroll? Could I submit the Equivalency Letter later?

If you have not or could not yet obtained your Equivalency Letter, you can complete your enrollment with a Letter of Undertaking that you can sign during enrollment.

8. Do I have to get a residence permit? If I have to, how do I apply?

Yes. (MNE. TTKB. letter numbered 2236435 and dated 28/08/2013) Foreign students are required to apply for a residence permit within 30 days of entering Turkey before the visa period expires. It may take approximately 90 days for residence permits to be ready. Students who have applied for residence permit should not leave Turkey before the application period is completed and they obtain a residence permit.

9. Do I have to have general health insurance? How do I apply if I have to?

Yes. Foreign students who want to study in Turkey are required to have a General Health Insurance or Private Health Insurance from Turkey in order to receive a Residence Permit. Candidates are responsible for making their own insurance. After registration, the International Office provides the necessary guidance to our students. You can get detailed information about insurance from the International Office.

10. For the medical reports of the Aviation Management program: Does the hospital public / private matter? Do I have to get it from Turkey?

It does not matter whether the hospital where the medical report will be taken is public / private; it is enough to be fully fledged. A medical report can be obtained from any state hospital, university hospital or private hospital in accordance with the specified criteria. You can also obtain the health report from your own country.

11. How can I obtain the Class-1 certificate for the Professional Flight program? Do I have to get it from Turkey?

Original and copy of health certificate and health report in accordance with the ICAO Annex-1 Class 1 decree received from hospitals authorized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The list of authorized aviation medical centers can be found on the official website of the DGCA. It is compulsory and under the responsibility of students to convert the health report from the competent aviation medical center to a certificate. You can reach the procedures for converting the health report to the certificate on the official web page of DGCA. Students who cannot convert their health reports to certificates due to the prolongation of bureaucratic procedures until the date of enrollment can enroll with the original and a copy of the health report. First class health certificates will be returned to you after being compared with the original one and you will have the responsibility of renewing and delivering the copy to the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics every year during your studies. We would like to remind you that the relevant health report can only be obtained from Turkey and the enrollment procedures of students who do not have a health report will not be completed. Therefore, you should make your travel plans to Turkey in a way that you can obtain the relevant document and present it during enrollment.

12. Where can I get the archived/apostilled criminal records of Professional Flight and Aviation Management programs?

Archive registered criminal record document obtained from the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor within the last 1 month. T.R. National students can obtain the document through the Judicial Records Inquiry Form over the e-government system. To create a document registered as an archive, select "Official" in the Institution Type field; In the Document Why Issued To field, you can select "Other". Foreign students must apply to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor to obtain the document.

Foreign students are obligated to obtain their criminal record documents from their own country with apostille.

13. I have courses from a different university/I changed my major at OzU. What should I do for course transfer procedures?

After the enrollment process, the students whose courses will/can be transferred must apply to the administrative officials of the Faculty/School they are enrolled in with their transcript and course description documents and submit a course transfer petition.

Course registration is the process of selecting the courses to be registered during the related semester. The courses to be taken in the first semester of the English Preparatory Program and undergraduate programs at our university are pre-determined and course registrations are made by the Student Services. However, students who have transferred courses for the first semester of their undergraduate program are required to complete their course registrations themselves for the first semester during the course registration period.

In order to be able to enroll in the following semesters, at the beginning of each semester, after the semester tuition fee is paid within the periods specified in the academic calendar, it is necessary to register for the courses to be taken during the semester online through the Student Information System (SIS).

14. How much are the tuition fees? How much should I pay? Can I make the payment after enrollment?

In order to complete the university enrollment, the tuition fee must be paid first. You can find information about fees here. The 1000 USD prepayment fee you paid at the time of application and acceptance will be deducted from your tuition fee payment for the 2023-2024 Fall semester, and you will pay the remaining amount.

15. What are the payment methods? Do I have to come to school to pay?

Payment Method: During the early enrollment period, you need to make your payment by wire transfer to the USD account to which you have previously sent the pre-payment.

16. I changed my mind about enrolling to your university. Can I get a refund of the 1000 USD prepayment fee?

Prepayment fees are not refundable for any reason other than visa refusal.

17. What are the additional scholarship opportunities?

Scholarships of the students accepted in the international student quota are evaluated by the International Office at the first admission to the university. After enrollment at the university, you can receive an "academic achievement scholarship" depending on your academic success. You can find information about the academic success scholarship here.

18. My sibling is also studying at Özyeğin University, is there a sibling scholarship?

Students who can benefit from the Family Discount should send a petition explaining their status and documents showing that they are siblings (passport copies, certified population sample, etc.) to the Student Services Directorate (student.services@ozu.edu.tr) via e-mail.

19. Can I get a student certificate immediately after registration?

After your university enrollment is completed, you can request a student certificate via the Student Information System (SIS) -> Document Request screen. Your document will be prepared with e-signature and emailed to your OzU email address within 24 hours.

T.R. Students with a blue card nationality can also obtain a student certificate approved by YÖK via e-government system.

20. What do I need to do to get a discounted IstanbulKart?

Our students can get their cards by making an individual application to IETT.

21. Is English Preparatory School compulsory in all your programs?

Except for the Turkish Architecture and Law programs, the English Preparatory Program is compulsory in all undergraduate programs at Özyeğin University.

In Turkish Architecture and Law programs, the English Preparatory Program is optional. You may not take the exam if you wish, but if you do not provide language proficiency, you will not be able to register for elective courses offered other than Turkish language. Foreign students enrolled in programs whose language of instruction is Turkish in whole or in part are required to certify their Turkish proficiency. Turkish Proficiency Certificate is not required for those who have completed their secondary education in Turkish institutions in Turkey in at least the last three years. Students who have obtained a B1 (Intermediate) level or higher score in the Turkish Proficiency exams taken from the exam centers accredited by TÖMER or the Higher Education Council within the validity period meet the Turkish proficiency requirement.

22. What is the score I need to get in order to be successful in your university's English proficiency exams?

  • 1st stage – Students will be considered successful if they get at least 48 out of 70 from the Online PLACEMENT exam. Successful students grade “S”; The grade of unsuccessful students will be announced as “U”.
  • Students who are successful in the 1st stage have the right to take the 2nd stage – Online TRACE exam. Students will be considered successful if they get at least 65 out of 100 in this exam. Successful students grade “S”; The grade of unsuccessful students will be announced as “U”.
  • Students who fail the 1st or 2nd stage will be placed in a class according to their level in the English Preparatory Program.

23. Where can I view my English test results?

The exam results of the students who will take the language proficiency exams before enrollment will be notified by email. Students who take language proficiency exams after enrollment can view their exam results by logging into the Student Information System (SIS) with their username and password.
