The Fit Startup Factory is Turkey’s first business acceleration program launched under the auspices of Özyeğin University in 2011. The Fit Startup Factory is an accelerator program designed to enable entrepreneurs in Turkey to create high potential and sustainable tech businesses and test their business ideas in the shortest time frame with the minimum number of activities, using the lean business, customer-driven development methodologies. The Factory supports entrepreneurs with training, infrastructure, mentorship, and a wide business network from the idea stage to the actual launch. The Fit Startup Factory is a non-profit, economic responsibility project. The main goal of the Factory is to teach prospective entrepreneurs how to “think like an entrepreneur”, and contribute to building an entrepreneurship ecosystem in order to promote and accelerate the development of entrepreneurship.
The Fit Startup Factory has received over 3,500 applications for its programs, and admitted over 250 entrepreneurs since it first began in 2011. Among these entrepreneurs, 61 of them successfully completed the program, and 48 of them are still forging ahead with their entrepreneurial pursuits. To date, these entrepreneurs have created jobs for 230 people, and an economic value of 9 million TL.
