While English is widely spoken at Özyeğin and within academic circles, learning basic Turkish will enhance your daily experience. We offer:

Healthcare

As an international faculty member, you will be enrolled in the Turkish healthcare system (SGK) and private health insurance, depending on your contract. You will also have access to nearby hospitals and clinics that offer excellent care, many with English-speaking staff. Transportation

Getting around in Istanbul is easy and affordable with the Istanbulkart, which works for metro and other underground rail system, buses, trams, and ferries. You can get your Istanbulkart online or at nearby kiosks. Faculty members are eligible to obtain a discount Istanbulkart (ogretmen kart – teacher card). Family Support

If you are relocating with family, we can assist with:

• School recommendations for your children (both international and local options)
• Information on childcare and family-friendly neighborhoods
• Support for obtaining family residence permits.
