Deniz Eren

Sustainability, Safety and Quality Director

  Deniz Eren serves as Sustainability, Safety and Quality Director. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2000.  She holds Class A Occupational Safety Expert, NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, and Trainer's Training certifications. She is also certified as a Lead Auditor for the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System. After working for many years in the fields of Management Systems and HSE across a broad range of industries (HSE), Deniz Eren joined Özyeğin University in September 2024.

Meral Işık

Sustainability and Quality Manager

  Meral Işık has been serving as Sustainability and Quality Manager at Özyeğin University since September 2024. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Istanbul University, Faculty of Business Administration, in 1999. She worked at IBM Türk Limited Company between 1999 and 2008. Since 2008, she has been working at Özyeğin University. Throughout her career at the University, she took an active role in the establishment and commissioning of the Altunizade and Çekmeköy campuses (2008–2013). She has held managerial responsibilities in Process Management (2013–2015), Solution Center Application Ownership (2015–2024), KVKK compliance and Personal Data Liaison Officer role (2017–2023), administrative software applications and campus digital transformation projects under Corporate IT Solutions (2018–2023), and IT Service and Process Development (2023). In her current role, she coordinates the development of the University’s sustainability approach, quality management system practices, process management, and the integrated handling of risk and compliance activities, as well as continuous improvement initiatives. She holds international auditor and lead auditor certifications in quality, business continuity, energy, water efficiency, and social responsibility. Her key certifications include ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (CQI & IRCA), ISO 22301 Business Continuity Lead Auditor, ISO 50001 Energy Management Lead Auditor, ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Lead Auditor, ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Lead Auditor, and ISO 19011 Internal Auditor. She has also been a member of the Campus Services Advisory Board since 2015.

Erdi Tüzün

Sustainability and Quality Specialist

  Erdi Tüzün has been serving as a Sustainability and Quality Specialist at Özyeğin University since 2016. He received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2013 and graduated from the Emergency and Disaster Management Program at Atatürk University in 2020. He began his professional career during his undergraduate studies, completing internships at the Environment Laboratory at ITU, Construction Department at Garanti Bank, and at the Directorate of Environmental Protection and Control at Ataşehir Municipality. Between 2008 and 2011, he worked as Part-Time Assistant at the Human Resources Department at Garanti Bank. He served as Reporting Specialist at the AEM Environment Laboratory from 2013 through 2014. He holds a Class B Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Certificate, as well as the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and ITU Quality Management Specialist Certificate. He is also certified as a Working at Heights Trainer, Fire Safety Trainer, and Consultant. In addition, he holds Lead Auditor certifications for ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), ISO 50001 (Energy Management System), ISO 46001 (Water Efficiency Management System), ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management System) and ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility Management System). With his expertise in sustainability built on training in ISO 14064-1 Corporate Carbon Footprint, ISO 14046 Corporate Water Footprint, sustainability reporting, and performance indicators, he contributes to the development and implementation of the University’s sustainability strategy by integrating management systems with sustainability practices.

Ahmet Bilir

HSE Specialist

  Ahmet Bilir has been serving as HSE Specialist at the Sustainability and QHSE Department at Özyeğin University since 2023. As the University’s official Occupational Safety Professional, he is responsible for the effective management of occupational health and safety, environmental, and sustainability processes. He holds a Class C Occupational Safety Specialist certification approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, as well as the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IG1 & IG2).  His work focuses on risk management, the development of safety culture, and the implementation of management systems. He is certified as a Lead Auditor for ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 46001, ISO 22301, and ISO 26000 standards, and plays an active role in integrated management system processes. His responsibilities include emergency management, risk assessment, work permit systems, accident and incident investigations, audit processes, and the organization of training and drills. Additionally, he offers training on fire safety, working at heights, working in confined spaces, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and root cause analysis.His professional approach is firmly grounded in sustainability and organizational safety culture, with a strong emphasis on systematic and continuous improvement.

Sibel Beyaz

Health, Safety and Environment Specialist

  Sibel Beyaz has been serving as a Health, Safety and Environment Specialist at Özyeğin University since December 2025. She received her bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering from Süleyman Demirel University in 2015. She completed a non-thesis master's program in Occupational Health and Safety at Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University in 2019. She completed her internships in 2013 and 2014 at the Paşaköy Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ). In 2018, she worked as an Occupational Safety Specialist at Anka Group for the ÖZAK GYO Büyükyalı Project. Between 2019 and 2021, she served as an Occupational Safety Specialist at Detam Group OSGB. From 2021 to 2025, she worked as an Occupational Safety Specialist at Omsan Logistics Inc. In addition, she holds a Class B Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Certificate, Environmental Officer Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely certification, and external auditor qualifications for ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), ISO 50001 (Energy Management System), ISO 46001 (Water Efficiency Management System), ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management System), and ISO 26000 (Social Responsibility Management System). She also holds internal auditor certifications for ISO 19011 (Internal Auditing) and ISO 10002 (Customer Satisfaction Management System), and a First Aid certification. She has also completed the following trainings: ISO 31000 Enterprise Risk Management, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Awareness Training, the European Green Deal, Training of Trainers (ToT), ADR 1.3 General Awareness and Safety Training, Firefighting, and Search, Rescue, and Evacuation Training.

Dr. Ahmet Murat Albayrak

University Physician

  Dr. Ahmet Murat Albayrak earned his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Ondokuz Mayıs University in Samsun in 1994. He served in various public institutions between 1994 and 2013. Since 2013, Dr. Albayrak has been practicing as an occupational physician, and since 2017 he has been serving at Özyeğin University Health Center as the University Physician.

Dr. Meliha Kübra ŞİMŞEK

Family Medicine Doctor

  Dr Meliha Kubra SIMSEK completed her medical degree at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2018. Between 2019 and 2023, she completed her specialist training in Family Medicine at Ankara Baskent University. She worked as a Family Medicine Specialist at Konya Kulu Omeranli District State Hospital from 2024 to 2025, and as a Clinic Doctor at Acibadem Mobile Health Services from 2025 to 2026. As of April 2026, she has been serving as an Accredited Family Medicine Doctor at Ozyegin University Health Centre.
