Erasmus+ program offers the possibility of studying abroad in an EU country for a period of 2 to 12 months. Outgoing exchange students are responsible for paying their regular tuition fees at Özyeğin, and benefit from the tuition fee waiver at the host institution. It is recommended that undergraduate OzU students apply for an exchange semester in their second year. OzU graduate students are recommended to apply in their first year of their studies.
The International Exchange and Partnership Programs Office opens applications for participation in the Erasmus exchange at the end of each Fall semester. Eligibility criteria as follows:
- Being a full-time student at OzU,
- Minimum 2.20/4.00 CGPA for undergraduate students,
- Minimum 3.00/4.00 CGPA for graduate students – academic advisor’s approval should be sent to the International Exchange and Partnership Programs Office (IEPO) by email before the application deadline,
- Getting a minimum 60/100 points from the 2024 Erasmus Language Exam (ELE),
- Having completed a minimum of 24 ECTS credits at the time of the application.
At the time of nomination to the partner institution, applicants must have completed at least 54 ECTS credits in their current programs from which they applied.
The application announcement for the 2026-27 academic year has been published on MyOzU. You may review it from this link.
- Submit your online application and institution selection via TURNA Portal,
Review the up-to-date list of partner institutions in the application call,
Check the official websites of the partners and read practical information (academic calendar, course catalogs, accommodation, etc.),
Check any additional notes/presentations provided by the OzU International Exchange and Partnership Programs Office (IEPP).
Take the Erasmus+ Language Exam (ELE)
Evaluation is based on the Erasmus score.
Erasmus Score = CGPA 50% + ELE Score 50% + additional Turkish National Agency Additional Criteria (if applicable)
- Ranking will be faculty/school-based.
To qualify for extra points, students must submit the relevant documents at the time of application. The points mentioned below will be applied to the Erasmus score.
(-) Students who have previously participated in the Erasmus+ program at the same study level will have 10 points deducted for each participation.
(-) Students who withdrew from the program in previous years after submitting the commitment form will have 10 points deducted for each withdrawal
(-) Students who wish to participate in the program in their countries of citizenship will have 10 points deducted.
(-) Students who register for the ELE and not attend without a valid excuse will have 5 points deducted if they reapply for the Erasmus+ Program.
(-) Placed students who did not attend the mandatory orientation sessions before without a valid excuse will have 5 points deducted.
(+) Students with disabilities will receive an additional 10 points.1
(+) Students who are the children of Veterans/Martyrs will be given an extra 15 points. 2
(+) Students who themselves or their first-degree relatives receive disaster financial support from AFAD will be given an extra 10 points.3 Students who apply to both the Study and Traineeship Mobility must declare which of their applications they would like the extra points to be applied to. An extra 10 points can only be given to one of the applications the student chose in his/her petition.
(+) An additional 10 points will be awarded to students who are under the protection, care, and shelter of Act No. 2828, Family Social Services, or 5395, Child Protection Law, provided they submit the necessary documents.
1 The student must submit the Disability Health Board Report included in the "Regulation on Disability Assessment for Adults" published in the Official Gazette dated 20 February 2019 and numbered 30692.
2 In addition to the spouses and children of war veterans and war martyrs, when applying for Erasmus traineeship mobility, priority is given to the spouses and children of public officials who, “while performing their duties domestically or abroad, or even after the termination of their status, become victims of terrorist acts, get injured, disabled, or killed” as outlined in Article 21 of the Law on the Fight Against Terrorism numbered 3713, dated 12/4/1991. Furthermore, in line with Article 7 of Decree numbered 667 dated 23 July 2016, priority is granted to civilians who became disabled, and the spouses and children of these civilians, as well as the spouses and children of those who lost their lives due to the coup attempt and terrorist acts on 15/07/2016, when applying for Erasmus traineeship mobility.
3 This is applied on a one-time basis for each level of study (undergraduate, graduate, PhD) and for each project type (KA131–KA171). It will not be applied to the student’s subsequent applications if the student has already participated in the program. However, if the student does not participate in the program due to withdrawal before submitting the commitment form or because of force majeure, the additional points will continue to be applied in subsequent applications.
Students who have benefited from the Erasmus mobility activities (either study mobility or traineeship mobility) may participate in the Erasmus+ program multiple times as long as the total mobility period does not exceed 12 months.
For programs offered by partner institutions in languages other than English, students will be required to submit national/international language scores in accordance with the host institution's requirements before being nominated.
Erasmus applicants must complete the official documents such as the Learning Agreement, Course Transfer and Adaptation Table, Visa Copy, Health Insurance Policy, Erasmus Grant/Mobility Agreement, Certificate of Attendance, etc. For academic recognition, applicants must fill out the Learning Agreement and Course Transfer and Adaptation Table signed by all responsible persons. The Learning Agreement guarantees the transfer and recognition of credits earned during the exchange term.
Placed applicants who submit their commitment form on time will be officially nominated by the OzU IEPP Office to the host institutions. Only then will students apply directly to the host institution to be exchange students. Applicants are responsible for following deadlines, housing reservations, health insurance, etc. Final admission is at the discretion of the partner institution and is never guaranteed. Upon receiving the acceptance letter from the host institution, students must apply for a student visa. OzU International Exchange and Partnership Programs Office will provide eligible students with an official visa support letter. The visa application process is solely the student's responsibility. Please note that a separate residence permit application may be required for the host country.
Erasmus exchange students should use the Learning Agreement "during the mobility" page and bring back the Learning Agreement together with the Certificate of Attendance at the end of the exchange semester. Students must submit their EU Participant's Report online along with the other necessary forms in order to be considered for the remaining 20% of the mobility grant and complete their exchange term. Based on students' attendance certificates and passport information, the actual dates of the study mobility will be recalculated by the Beneficiary Module.
Transfer of credits earned during exchange towards the Özyeğin University graduation requirements can only be completed after the official transcript from the host institution has been received and the respective decision has been taken by the Faculty/School/Institute Board. Failing to submit required documents on time may adversely affect and create delays in various procedures.
Online Linguistic Support (EU Academy)
The Online Linguistic Support will be gradually implemented in the course of the Program for all study mobility activities lasting three months and longer. Such online support is made available by the European Commission on EU Academy to selected students, with a view to assessing their competence in the language they will use to study or carry out their traineeships abroad. This tool will also offer them, where necessary, the possibility to improve their knowledge of the language before and/or during the mobility period. For more information on language assessments and courses, click here.

Erasmus mobility grant allocations are announced by the Turkish National Agency in late summer each year. Once the allocations are announced, the OzU International Exchange and Partnership Programs Office makes an announcement to all placed students regarding the recipients of the mobility grants. These grants are limited thus, they cannot be guaranteed to every student who has been placed as an exchange student. The granted student is determined only by the students' rankings in each faculty. The ranking is determined by the Erasmus score. If a student receives a grant, the monthly amount given depends on the host country, and the student can be funded for four months at most. It is important to note that the mobility grants are meant to support students partially and will not cover all expenses. Students will need additional funding from alternative sources even if they become eligible to receive a grant.
Erasmus study mobility grant eligibility will be based on the budget allocated by the Turkish National Agency. Not all students are eligible and students can participate in the Erasmus program as zero-grant students. Zero grant students must fulfill all student mobility criteria to benefit from all the advantages of being an Erasmus+ student.
Students who qualify for mobility grants have to sign a grant agreement and agree to undertake the responsibilities that are mentioned in the agreement. Mobility grants are calculated before the mobility based on predictive study period dates. After the mobility, the grants will be recalculated by taking into consideration the actual study period, in accordance with entry/exit stamps in the passport and the certificate of attendance issued by the host institution. If the student does not fulfill the minimum academic criteria and submits the mandatory documents on time, the student may not receive the remaining grant or may be asked to pay back a portion of the allocated grant. 80% of the mobility grant will be paid to eligible students at the beginning of the exchange semester. Students who fulfill all the requirements (relevant documentation, academic success, etc.) will be considered for the remaining 20% of the mobility grant.
You may find the table below, which shows the regional mobility grant amount. The allocation varies from year to year and depends on the European Commission and the Turkish National Agency's budget proposal.
Group of countries | Host country | Monthly grant for study mobility |
Group 1 & 2 program countries with higher living costs | Denmark, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Norway, Luxembourg, Iceland, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Netherlands, Portugal, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia | 600 € |

Receiving the KYK Scholarship or Loan is not acceptable to apply for the additional grant.
Inclusion Support for Students with Special Needs
Additional special needs funding is available for participants whose individual physical, mental, or health-related conditions are such that participation in Erasmus+ would not be possible without extra support.
The Inclusion Support Request Form must be completed and, together with its attachments, submitted to the Turkish National Agency within the period of the grant agreement signed between TR NA and Ozyegin University, and at least 15 days prior to the start of the exchange term.
Students must submit:
- National Agency Additional Grant Request Form (In the application form, it is required to explain why inclusion support is needed and attach supporting documents.)
- A doctor's report giving information about the disability and its level (not older than 3 months) and/or a photocopy of the disability card and/or doctor's report for chronic diseases.
- An official letter from the partner university (it must state that it has the necessary equipment to meet the student's special requests.)
In order to be considered for Inclusion Support, students must inform the IEPP Office of their circumstances and provide official documentation of their disability, and declare the specific needs related to their condition. If the participant has an additional grant request, the approximate costs and justifications must be declared to the IEPP Office. The IEPP office will submit requests to the Turkish National Agency for final assessment and approval.
Students who cannot participate in long-term physical mobility primarily are able to carry out short-term physical mobility by combining it with a compulsory virtual component.
This is a blended type of mobility which includes a physical mobility period completed for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days abroad the completion of a compulsory virtual period before or after the physical mobility.
Internship activity should be completed uninterrupted. It should be scheduled to complete a minimum of 5 days in case of a break (the time when the organization is closed, public holidays, etc.). In order to ensure the minimum and maximum activity period, the dates when the internship will be closed should be investigated in advance, and it should be ensured that the minimum period is provided even after the vacation period included. Weekend holidays are excluded from these criteria.
In case of a blended mobility, the dates of the physical and virtual periods of the mobility must be specified separately on the Acceptance Letter received from the host company/institution. If not, the mobility period stated on the letter will be considered as “physical” duration.
Students receive daily grant for the physical period they complete abroad for a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days.
| Duration of the physical activity | Amount |
| 5th to 14th day of activity | 79 EUR per day |
| 15th to the 30th day of activity | 56 EUR per day |
Travel Support and Green Travel
In order to contribute to students' travel expenses, there is travel support for study mobility. Grant for travel support can be allocated according to the distance from the host institution's city and to granted students. The distance calculator provided by the European Commission determines the km value between the starting point of the mobility and the place where the activity takes place, and the travel grant is calculated using the table below:
The travel support amount is based on the travel distance per participant. Travel distances must be calculated using the distance calculator provided by the European Commission (http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm )
Distance (kilometers) | Standard Travel Grant (Euro) | Green Travel Grant (Euro) |
Between 10 - 99 KM | 28 | 56 |
Between 100 - 499 KM | 211 | 285 |
Between 500 - 1999 KM | 309 | 417 |
Between 2000 - 2999 KM | 395 | 535 |
Between 3000 - 3999 KM | 580 | 785 |
Between 4000 - 7999 KM | 1188 | 1188 |
8000 KM and above | 1735 | 1735 |
The kilometer shown in the distance band calculator is the round-trip figure for the grant in the table below, and the amount in question is not multiplied by two. As a general rule, participants are expected to travel with low-emission transportation vehicles for distances under 500 km.
Green travel is defined as travel that uses low-emissions modes of transport for the main part of the travel, such as bus, train, or car-pooling. In the case of only one direction of travel for the exchange term, the student cannot benefit from the green travel support. Please note that electric car use is not considered green travel unless shared with another participant. All green travel support requests will be evaluated individually, and support can only be provided after the approval of the Turkish National Agency.
