Since its establishment, Özyeğin University has embraced a transformative approach to education—one that goes beyond equipping students with academic knowledge in their chosen disciplines. Our educational philosophy is centered on developing the competencies, perspectives, and adaptability students need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The Sectoral Education Program (SEP) was established as a university-wide academic unit under the Rectorate, with the approval of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), to bring this vision to life. Open to students from all faculties, SEP offers an experience-driven learning model that connects academic education with industries, organizations, and society.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

SEP is founded on the belief that meaningful learning extends beyond the classroom.

By combining experiential learning, project-based education, and transdisciplinary exploration, the program enables students to apply academic knowledge in authentic real-world contexts. Students work on company projects, analyze sectoral challenges through case studies, collaborate with industry professionals, and engage in multidisciplinary teamwork.

The curriculum also introduces students to contemporary and future-oriented topics—including artificial intelligence, digital transformation, data science, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and civic engagement—encouraging them to broaden their perspectives beyond their primary discipline and approach complex challenges from multiple viewpoints.
