SEC 302 Sectoral Solutions: Local Expertise

Course Objective:

A case-based study of sectors to develop a solid understanding of the structural, economic, political, social, and technological dynamics of different sectors in Turkey.

Course Description:

SEC 302 focuses on the dynamic evolution of leading sectors in Turkey. It emphasizes various forces that shape the functioning of all sectors in general as well as those that are unique to particular sectors. The course also conducts horizontal and cross-cutting issues like demographics that will have an effect on the future of sectors.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the course, the learners are expected to be able to:

• Conduct an industry analysis
• Identify general as well as sector-specific performance metrics
• Evaluate general as well as sector-specific performance metrics
• Determine the forces that have a direct as well as an indirect effect on the key performance indicators of selected sectors in Turkey
• Analyze dominant business models prevailing in the selected sectors
• Critically evaluate dominant business models prevailing in the selected sectors
• Map alternative industry/firm growth scenarios, and generate creative recommendations
